Grow Green Spaces Stortford (GGSS) has emerged from the Community Climate Gathering organised by Bishop\u2019s Stortford Climate Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grow Green Spaces Stortford aims to grow flowers, fruit, vegetables or herbs \u2013 whatever is appropriate \u2013 in unloved spaces in Stortford to increase biodiversity in the town; to make Stortford a greener, better place to live and to encourage community involvement in gardening to the benefit of all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GGSS is working with the Canal & River Trust<\/a> to improve the banks of the River Stort along the town centre section. Once a month volunteers join forces with Save Our Stort<\/a> to clear sections along the towpath which are going to be sown with native wildflower seeds and shrubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work groups meet on the third Sunday of every month from 11.30am-1.30pm. Bring your own spade, fork, gloves and a drink. Homemade cake and good company provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watch out for our Sunflower giveaways to encourage everyone in Stortford to grow some sunshine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
